He was a staff of the Federal Ministry of Justice where he ascended to the role of Director.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-4ffa58280b6f2ac1f6fd89446e824929\">\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-563b542fbeca9be61aec5b6693535bb6\" style=\"text-align: justify\">Below is the full text of the notice signed by BOSAN\u2019s Secretary, Mr. Olumide Sofowora SAN.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\"><strong>NOTICE OF THE PASSING OF MR. TANKO TANKO ASHANG, SAN<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-08a11bdaa35515dc4d3c4bbd5c03c1e2\" style=\"text-align: justify\">It is with profound sorrow and heartfelt regret that we announce the passing of Mr. Tanko Tanko Ashang, SAN, who departed from this world on the 8th of October, 2024, in Abuja.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-a57744cccb14a2a3ae457662592b6190\" style=\"text-align: justify\">Mr. Tanko Tanko Ashang, SAN was called to the Bar in 1993 and was conferred with the prestigious rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria on September 29, 2022.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-78f989313ebda26d5984399da97fd276\" style=\"text-align: justify\">A native of Busi in the Obanliku Local Government Area of Cross River State, Mr. Ashang, SAN was also the son of the late Paramount Ruler of Obanliku, Uchua Moses Ashang.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-d97a30837393fc1c45eabb2066e061f4\" style=\"text-align: justify\">He served as the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice for Cross River State from 2019 to 2023.<br \/>\nPrior to his tenure as Attorney General of Cross River State, Mr. Tanko Ashang, SAN was engaged in legal practice with the Federal Ministry of Justice, where he ascended to the role of Director.<br \/>\nThroughout his illustrious career in the Federal Ministry of Justice, Mr. Tanko Ashang, SAN held various esteemed positions, including but not limited to:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\" style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li>Legal Adviser, National Lottery Regulatory Commission, 2019.<\/li>\n<li>Head, Central Authority Unit, 2016-2019.<\/li>\n<li>Deputy Director, Civil Litigation, 2015-2016.<\/li>\n<li>Legal Adviser, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, 2013-2014.<\/li>\n<li>Legal Adviser, National Emergency Management Agency, 2007-2013.<\/li>\n<li>Assistant Legal Adviser, Federal Inland Revenue Services, 2005-2007.<\/li>\n<li>Legal Assistant to the Attorney General of the Federation, 1998-1999.<\/li>\n<li>Public Prosecutor, 1996-1998.<\/li>\n<li>Principal Counsel, Templice Chambers, 1995-1996.<\/li>\n<li>Special Assistant to the Deputy Chairman, 1995.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-e84229891f6724d97ee8e58099c28927\" style=\"text-align: justify\">Mr. Tanko Tanko Ashang, SAN, is survived by his wife and children.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-6c649cd920a27113da5944dcc3bf6455\" style=\"text-align: justify\">In this time of profound grief, we extend our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. We offer fervent prayers for the solace and eternal peace of Tanko Tanko Ashang, SAN, along with our departed colleagues.
