The Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) has launched a training programme for 500 data protection officers (DPOs) through its \u2018Data Protection Training and Certification\u2019 initiative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a statement on Monday, the commission said the initiative aims to meet the increasing need for data protection and privacy professionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe aim of this initiative by the Commission is to cultivate a robust pool of skilled privacy professionals, in line with the Pillar 2 (Human Capital Development) of the Nigeria Data Protection Strategic Roadmap and Action Plan (NDP-SRAP) 2023-2027 and strategic vision of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, to foster the creation of 2 million jobs in the digital economy sector,\u201d the statement reads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis initiative is designed to address the growing demand for data protection and privacy professionals, equipping them with the necessary skills to thrive in the ever-evolving digital landscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
